Pop sensibilities and strong musical intuition help guide "WWW.ebsters," the debut release from Kingston-based Pete Santora.

As George Harrison in the Broadway production of "Beatlemania!" in the 1970s, Santora (the vocalist) can easily be compared in spots to the raw, emotive singing style of John Lennon and/or Paul McCartney. But before any barbs are tossed, the fact he sounds much like his fab-counterparts is probably one reason he got such a heady gig in the first place. Save for a slight detour on "Remember the Time," where he is vocally reminiscent of Billy Joel, the similarity works exceedingly well, as it appears the sound is culled more from the artist's own \ talent than any intentional mimicry that might be seeping through.

"She's All I Think Of" is the release's strong lead-off track, with its identifiable bass-pedaling arrangement and unique stops. Vocal bends and glissandos accent "Please Don't Be So Angry" and passionate blues permeates the 1-4-5 of "Send Her Home."

Although primarily self-contained, Santora is joined on this release by drummer Randy Ciarlante. guitarist Tom Cogrove and bassist Larry Russell, as well as local-favorites Jimmy Weider and Robert Frazza.

Other standouts include the tongue-twisting "The Fast Track" and the turbo rock and roll of "You Had It Comin'." This smart debut release from the Hudson Valley transplant is available at Rhythms in Woodstock, Abrams Music in Kingston or on the web at www.hvtv.org.
